100% insulation FIBRE
Because the production of Nanoks sleeping bags and insulated clothing is integrated with the production of the fibre filling, Nanok does not have to use glue or binder fibres to create durable mats with an excellent performance. Nanoks mats therefore consist of 100% heat retaining fibres. Most competitors use up to 23% glue or binder fibre, this means that an 80gr/ m2 of Nanok mat insulates about as well as about 100gr/m2 mat from other companies. Another benefit of this process is that Nanoks
mats can be washed at 60°C without loosing performance. Because of our unique production techniques, Nanok can also blend fibres with different and finer thicknesses and properties and can therefore produce mats with more layers than our competitors. A 100gr/ m2 mat from Nanok has 10 -11 layers, where normally only 3-4 layers are used to get the same thickness.

Zips on Both Sides
This makes the bag much more comfortable; allows the opportunity to increase ventilation; makes the bag easier to get in and out of; and, should you use it as a double, you still have ventilation zips on the outer edge – altogether much more versatile than conventional bags.

The outer layer is bigger than the inner layer which means that the insulation is not compressed when you move inside the bag.
With the traveller in mind the Comfort bags are designed to give maximum comfort to the user. When travelling in differing temperatures the roomy shape and the “easy-access system” are invaluable. The two zipper system allows you to adjust the warmth according to the local temperature and make travelling more comfortable; one zipper in each side allows you to open the bag totally, this gives easier access to the bag. You can also sit in the bag with full freedom of movement for arms and legs. For use in Hostels and Dormitories you can unzip both zippers from the bottom so you have maximum ventilation and yet maximum privacy. Combined with soft, fast drying fabrics and filling this makes this the perfect choice for the outdoor enthusiast and traveller.
About syntethic fibre sleepingbags
To achieve the maximum performance in our fibre bags we use different fibers and mixtures depending on the performance criteria of the sleeping bag. All our fibre filled bags is build up by layers of fibres. Summer bags consist of one fibre layer, whilst 3 season and winter bags have several fibre layers with “dead air” spaces to avid cold spots and penetration of cold air from the outside. The thickness of a layer my vary from model to model depending on the temperature area the bag is intended for. Each layer is built up by many thin layers. The more layers the more surface for air to get trappet and the better the insulation. We don ́t use binderfibre or glue to keep layers together, instead we use a non woven fabric that also adds insulation. We also mix different fibres to get the best insulating, strength and compressibility combined with a soft feel.
Modern synthetic materials are not far behind down in their ability to retain heat. The advantage that a synthetic bag has over down is its ability to insulate even when damp. Always bear in mind that a damp bag is never as comfortable as a dry one of course and for this reason you should air your synthetic bag after use as you would a down one. A synthetic bag will dry much quicker than a down one and it does not need to be tumble dried to loft up as does a down bag.
